Naomi Judd

Bio:
Naomi Judd (born Diana Ellen Judd on January 11, 1946 in Ashland, Kentucky) is an American country music singer, songwriter and activist. With her daughter, Wynonna Judd, Naomi formed the singing duo The Judds. Country’s most famous mother-daughter duo, Wynonna and Naomi released 20 top-10 hits, including 15 at number, and won five Grammy Awards. The Judds sold 20 million albums, but in 1991, came to an abrupt stop after Naomi was diagnosed with a series of health issues, including Hepatitis C. In November 2005, Naomi hosted a talk show on the Hallmark Channel called Naomi’s New Morning. Most recently, it was announced that she would compete with her husband in an upcoming FOX reality series called My Kitchen Rules.

Personal Life:
Naomi had her first daughter, Wynonna, born Christina Ciminella, when she was just 18 years old. She had her second daughter, Ashley Judd, born April 1968, who went on to become a movie and stage actress. Naomi raised both girls as a single parent, while also attending nursing school. She married Larry Strickland of the Palmetto State Quarter on May 6, 1989. She has recently been open about her struggling with depression.
