Whether it was his work on the 1979 musical, Hair, or the 1999 film, The Deep End of the Ocean, many movie lovers knew his name. Sadly, the 71-year-old died on Jun. 12, 2023, after being involved in a motorcycle accident, his longtime agent told PEOPLE at the time.

“He was killed this afternoon. He was making a left or a right [and] a car cut him off,” his agent Barry McPherson told the outlet of his friend’s passing. “I’m just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented.” He went on to call Treat an “actor’s actor” who was loved by all. “He was an actor’s actor. Filmmakers loved him. He’s been the heart of Hollywood since the late 1970s,” he added. “He was really proud of his performance this year. He’s been so happy with the work that I got him. He’s had a balanced career.”

Some of Treat’s other famous works include Everwood, Chesapeake Shores, The Substitute, Deep Rising, and many more. He acted alongside many impressive actors including Beverly D’Angelo, Marvel actor Chris Pratt, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, actor Robert De Niro, and others.
