In the series, forty-two women unexpectedly become pregnant and give birth on the same day. Out of these forty-two children, Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopts seven, thus creating ‘The Umbrella Academy.’ The children, gifted with different superpowers, form a family of crimefighters – until family quarrels cause the family to split apart. Reunited after the death of Sir Hargreeves, the divisions between adopted siblings are still there until a long-lost brother returns with a warning of DOOM. Starring Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, David Castañeda, Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Britton, and Mary J. Blige. The show was well received by viewers, who made it the third most popular TV series on Netflix. Critics were mostly positive about the show, giving it generally favorable reviews. The show was renewed for a second season, which was set for July 2020.
