Sammy is best known as a former professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball for 19 years from 1989 until 2007. He was part of the Chicago Cubs for 19 seasons and he also played for the Texas Rangers and Chicago White Sox at one point. He had made history for many achievements throughout his baseball career and they were certainly impressive.

He hit his 400th homerun in his 1,354th game and his 5,273rd at-bat, reaching the epic milestone quicker than any other player in history. He is also one of nine players in MLB history to hit 600 career home runs. He made headlines alongside fellow player Mark McGwire in 1998 when the two tried to hit the home run record set by Roger Maris.
