Salma Hayek: Photos of Hollywood Superstar — Salma Hayek began her career modeling, then transitioned to acting while in her home country of Mexico, starring in the telenovela ‘Teresa’ and the film ‘El Callejón de los Milagros (Miracle Alley)’, which garnered her an Ariel Award nomination. She moved to Hollywood in 1991 and started picking up films like ‘Desperado’, ‘From Dusk till Dawn’, ‘Wild Wild West’, and ‘Dogma’. But her breakthrough role was as Frida Kahlo in the 2002 biopic ‘Frida’, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Golden Globe the following year. Though she didn’t win that year, Salma does have three Emmy Awards for roles on “Ugly Betty” and more. She also completed an arc as Jack Donaghy’s (Alec Baldwin) girlfriend, Elisa. She’s a passionate activists who works to support victims of domestic violence, and combats discrimination against immigrants. Salma married François-Henri Pinault in 2009; they have one daughter, Valentina Pinault.
