George Harrison Through The Years — George Harrison is a legend of music who was a member of The Beatles as well as a successful solo artist. The British rocker, born Feb. 25, 1943 was the lead guitarist for The Beatles, playing along with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr. The band was together for 13 albums until splitting in 1970. George was behind some of their best songs like “Here Comes The Sun”, “Taxman”, “Within You Without You”, and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”.

George was interested in Indian culture and spiritual practices, and their influence could be seen through his art. He was a close friend of Indian musician Ravi Shankar, who helped introduce the sitar into The Beatles’ music.

The rocker was married twice and has one son: Dhani, born 1978. George passed away from lung cancer in 2001. He was 58.
