After a year away, Cannes is back! The 73rd annual Cannes Film Festival returned to the French Riviera, and some of your favorite stars – Bella Hadid, Jessica Chastain, and more – helped kick off the comeback with some gorgeous outfits on the red carpet.

74th Cannes Film Festival — Photos Of The Cinematic Event — Vive le Cannes! After being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, the Cannes Film Festival returned in July 2021. The 74th edition of the internationally renowned cinematic event began on July 6, opening with ‘Annette,’ a musical directed by Leos Carax and featuring Adam Driver, Marion Cotillard, and Simon Helberg. The stars were out in full force for the Cannes comeback, with Bella Hadid, Jessica Chastain, Helen Mirren, and more strutting down the red carpet in gorgeous and glamorous designer gowns.

Spike Lee was picked to serve as head of the jury for this year’s festival – a jury that also consists of stars like Maggie Gyllenhaal, Song Kang-ho, and Jessica Hausner – with many films from around the world (including Sean Penn’s ‘Flag Day’ and Wes Anderson’s ‘The French Dispatch’) competing for the highly-valued Palme d’Or. The 2021 festival will also award the Honorary Palme d’Or to Italian filmmaker Marco Bellocchio as well as to American actress/filmmaker, Jodie Foster.
