He was convicted of first degree murder the shooting death in 2015 and sentenced to life in prison. On April 19, he was found dead in his prison cell after he hanged himself with a bedsheet. After his death he was determined to have the degenerative brain trauma CTE, which doctors say was the worst they’d ever seen in someone who was only 27-years-old. It was from is head taking too many hits over the years in football. His life story has been the subject of numerous movies and books. The streaming service Netflix debuted ‘Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez,’ a three-part docuseries on Jan. 15, 2020.
